Hi everyone,

First of all, I want to say what a great group meeting we had last night.  I always feel 100% energized when I leave.  Now that I am "on the other side" it was interesting to listen and learn so much new information that I will be needing.  I can't wait to have more progress and to be able to help the new people as best as I am able.

For next month's meeting, I would like to have the following  topic addressed:  Carbs...what can we have, if any?  Are there healthy carbs that we can eat after the surgery?  Also, if we can't have carbs, how does that effect our system nutrionally?  What can we do for fiber, if we are not eating whole wheat products?

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone.

And, a special thanks to Sophia, for working so hard to make our meetings more informative and yet lots of fun.  You are an amazing woman and I am so glad you are in my life!

It might be helpfull also to talk about how we deal with cravings.  I'm still pre-op but the goal line is in sight.  I am gearing up to completely change my relationship with food and more importantly my relationship with JUNK.  As in I won't be eating any JUNK anymore!  Or drinking JUNK anymore!

Me, I just want to be sure I am eating the right things.  I think I am, but I'm not really sure.  And if I am eating some of the wrong things, how wrong are they?   Can I get away with eating one or two things that aren't so bad?    I mean I've been doing this new diet thing for six months now and I've been losing weight the whole time.  How bad can it be?   Also, I don't always take my vitamins, what foods can I be adding to my diet that will help boost some of the things I may be lacking.

Also for the Nutritionist, I noticed that a lot of people at the meeting had to juggle or schedule their vitamins and supplements so they didn't interact with each other.  Could we talk more about that?  Now that I'm taking Iron and vitamin D should I take them together?  On an empty stomach?  With food?  How will my medications effect the supplements I'm taking?  How will some of these supplements effect my body?  Hopefully we/I can get some good input.

Sophia,

Can we discuss the Building Blocks vitamins?  I was just on their website and there are so many different ones.  I am not liking the chewable ones and would rather the capsules.  How big are they?  Can the nutrionist differenciate for us which are the ones we should be taking?

Thanks,
