Ah food.

Enough said!

I have been experimenting with food (post-op) now for a few weeks. Sometimes with bad results, sometimes good results and sometimes mixed.

I think I'm starting to pin point some things I will not be able to add back to my menu, like fried foods.

I have tried fried food 2x and it has not been good either time.

It's didn't come back up but really felt crappy.

Chicken breast has not been good for me either,

although I holding out hope for it and will try it again. I did have it the other night in a Vodka sauce and it sat rather well.

Maybe I just need something to help it slide down my gullet. Surprisingly some of the things that I have tried that I thought were going to be a disaster have worked out rather well.

I had a cup of store bought chili with beans yesterday for lunch and (besides some gas...

oh well) it sat really well, and tasted good with some Tabasco sauce added.

I have also enjoyed Gyro meat with the yourget sauce.

Cheese burgers (without the buns of course) have been mixed, the first two no problem the last one was not pretty!

Good thing I was home.

Shrimp has been a real winner when eaten with a little ****tail sauce.

The Golds has almost no sugar in it at one gram, all the rest have a lot of sugar but even those haven't caused a problem. Fruit hasn't been a problem either.

I had some fresh pineapple the other day, and theres a smoothie store between the gym and my home where I have stopped to get fruit smoothie from time to time for Emilia, and well I had one the other day with added shot of fiber and protein and well it took a while to get it all down but sat well and tasted good.
I think I'm one of the luck ones without dumping syndrome.

So far I been pretty much just staying with the Atkins diet menu... with a few shining exceptions like fruit and smoothie.... and it has been working.

At this point I just concentrate on the protein and the rest takes care of itself. I think the few times that I've really had a problem have been because of either eating too fast, or straining myself. I found out the hard way that if I strain my abdomen it's kind of like poking a bee hive with a stick... I will get stung.
I will be trying a piece of steak soon (it's in my fridge right now listening to me) and I hope the anticipation is rewarded.

Otherwise got to stay with the shrimp. At least figuring out the portions with the shrimp is easy.
Well see you all soon.
