Dr. Buchin probably will be around on the weekend thats when he usually replies if he isn't busy. So im sure when he has time he can put some photos up on the photo part of the forum cause I know there is a photo section of before and after surgery.

I felt the same way Rosa I felt excited and very nervous worst part of it all is the waiting especially right before the surgery lol I just wish they could of rolled me in right away once I was in the pre surgicial waiting room lol. But after you have surgery things will really start getting easier I feel so much lighter on my feet I can walk alot more then I ever have without getting tired. Still get outta breathe but thats gonna take some time still have another 100 lbs or so before ill be satisfied but I feel I can reach the goal this surgery really gives you alot of confidence when you see the pounds melting away. Surgery isnt for everybody and shouldnt be done unless there is no other option but I really felt this was the best and only way for me to lose weight. For me diet didnt work you can only stay on it for so long you might lose some weight but seems to always come back the weight. Right now im on pace of being about 250 lbs by the time a year has passed which means I would have lost 150 lbs. Which is really a huge difference from weighing 400 lbs. But I really still love enjoying foods taste buds havent changed at all for me things like bread and bagels you might get nausea weeks 2-8 after surgery. Try and stay away from greasy foods for 8 wks I got very nauseaed but no longer get the nausea feeling. Salads too becareful with for awhile since alot of it is hard to chew and digest. If you have vegtables make sure you steam or boil them so they are soft and easy to chew.

Thanks Dr. Buchin for posting the photos. Went to GNC 2 wks after my last checkup with Dr. Buchin and was 336.2 according to there scale in the Bayshore Mall. So thats another 6 lbs lost in 2 wks. Will go get weighed again its been another 2 wks since I was last weighed so im sure ive lost even more now. I feel wonderful though I feel so much lighter and I feel happier. I really notice the weight loss in my face and thighs. Belly has gone down alot can really tell by the pictures thats why Dr. Buchin says its important to take pictures of yourself regularly before and after surgery so you notice you are losing weight. Cause to me when i look at my stomach doesnt really look like i lost much but when I look at the photos I can definitely tell a difference.

I'm really starting to shrink fast my neighbors look at me and wonder whats going on with me. I'm always walking around the block daily and I think everybody just sees the weight melting off of me. I'm so happy I have gone for this surgery. People just smile at me some ask how I lost the weight and some don't ask about it but I can tell the way they smile they are kinda shocked at the transformation of how quickly I've been losing weight. Still no signs of complications I feel great I exercise without any problems my shortness of breath is improving. I still have a gut it is going away but what I most notice is my sides have really shrunk alot I can tell by looking at my shadow during the day how wide I use to be it has changed alot. Pictures really do help at times I have trouble noticing how I lost weight. But suddenly I dont even have to look at pictures I can look at myself in the mirror and tell now that there definitely is a huge change. If you look from picture one from picture two. The fat on my face is a HUGE difference. I also notice my arms getting smaller and my stomach not as big. I see a huge difference but I can assure ya in 2 wks when i see dr buchin it will be another huge improvement.

Went back in for checkup am now down to 329.8. Things are getting alot easier as I continute to lose weight. I saw Dr. Barry Stein who is the one that puts ya on the tredmill to see how your heart is doing and seeing if you are getting into good shape. Start exercising on the tredmill and saw that my oxygen level was very low and he started asking me questions thinking I could be anemic. And he was so concerned that he acually called Dr. Buchin himself. Next day I went in to see Dr. Buchin to see if he could find any signs of it and he knew for sure that I wasn't anemic I told him the past few days I might of been coming down with a cold that might of caused the blood oxygen level to go down. But its the fact that at least if there was something to worry about that they dont fool around about our lives. I really think this is the best place to go. They really take care of you here. Just got blood work done yesterday so will find out how my vitamin levels and all are in a few days. Wont see Dr. Buchin for 3 months now. Ill continute to post on here and answer questions if anybody has any .

Hi Everyone, My name is Dorothy - nickname is Dee. I just found out from Sophia today that I am approved by my insurance company to have my gastric bypass this January 30th!!!! I cried when she told me...because it's finally going to happen. Thank you, Sophie, for all your patience with me (I ask her a million questions constantly.) I am beyond thrilled and soooo happy. I want to be able to throw my cane away and walk, walk, walk anywhere and everywhere. AND, thank you, Dr. Buchin for being there for me, for making me feel confident & comfortable in having this operation. I can't wait! You and Sophie are the best!

Hi everyone!! My name is Martine. I just had my first appointment today. Sophia was very nice and did a great job giving me information. I hope to also learn from others in the support group. I was thinking about doing the Lap band but now considering the Bypass surgery. I look forward to two things: 1) shedding the excess weight 2) meeting new people to share the experience with

Hi Martine... Sorry it took so long for me to answer you. I've been so busy cleaning, getting ready for my big operation. Thanks for the congrats to me. Congratulations to you also for taking your first step to a new life. I am having the Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y done in FIVE DAYS!!! I am so happy that the time is finally here.
I'm glad you liked Sophia. Personally I think she is the greatest. She has been so helpful to me and so very patient with all my questions.
Right now I am on day 10 of liquids only and it has been so easy for me. I cannot believe that I haven't cheated at all. Not once have I even had an urge for junk food because I am getting chocolate with my chocolate shakes.
Martine, I also love the support group meetings. They are very helpful and you do meet wonderful people who are going through the same things that you will be going through. Hope to meet you at the meetings....I don't know if I will be making February's meeting...but I certainly won't be missing any others after that.
Good luck...let me know if I can help you in any way. Dee
