Modify Recipes – Change up recipes you love or want to try by making a few adjustments. Look at the ingredients; find the ones high in fat and sugar. Is the ingredient necessary? If not, remove it. Can the ingredient amount be reduced? Try using half the amount called for. Can the ingredient be substituted? Use fat free, low fat, low sugar, sugar free or high protein versions of ingredients and swap.
For added protein mix unflavored protein powder into tomato sauces, mashed cauliflower, soups (if can be mixed in hot), chili, meatloaf, ground meats dishes/casseroles, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese or sugar free pudding. Mix protein powder with nut butter for extra protein to dip apples or veggies, like celery or carrots.
